Experience uses a tiered content access system that determines who can view different types of content.
Access Levels Explained
1. Public Content
- Who can see it: Everyone, including visitors who don't have an account.
- What it includes: Posts the creator has explicitly marked as public.
- How to access: Simply visit the creator's profile or see it in your feed.
2. Follower-Only Content
- Who can see it: Only users who follow the creator.
- What it includes: Content the creator shares exclusively with followers.
- How to access: Click Follow on the creator's profile. It's free!
3. Subscriber-Only Content
- Who can see it: Only users with an active subscription to the creator.
- What it includes: The creator's most exclusive content.
- How to access: Subscribe to one of the creator's paid plans.
4. Paid Content
- Who can see it: Anyone who purchases the individual post.
- What it includes: Premium content with a one-time purchase price.
- How to access: Click Unlock or Purchase on the post and complete payment.
- Note: Some paid posts may also require a subscription to even see the post listing.
Combined Access Requirements
Some content may have multiple access requirements:
| Post Type | Access Required |
|---|---|
| Public post, no price | None — visible to all |
| Public post, with price | Purchase to unlock content |
| Follower post, no price | Must follow the creator |
| Follower post, with price | Must follow + purchase |
| Subscriber post, no price | Must have active subscription |
| Subscriber post, with price | Must have active subscription + purchase |
Locked Content Indicators
When you encounter content you can't access, you'll see:
- A lock icon indicating the content is restricted.
- A preview of the content (if the creator has enabled free preview).
- A clear call-to-action telling you what you need to do (follow, subscribe, or purchase).
Content You've Purchased
Once you purchase a paid post, you have permanent access to that content — even if you later unsubscribe from the creator or unfollow them.
